Hi Amy,

I found the 2008 conference was one of the most useful the ECA has ever run. As most of the presentations were targetted for consultants, it was less general than some previous conferences. I particularly found the Professional Indemnity presentation informative (and terrifying), and the legal presentations. The latter was very useful for me as I was to have my first court appearance in a few years and it was good to hear advice from the horse's mouth.

I do think 2days was stretching it in terms of finanical sacrifice of employers and sole traders, but for this conference, it worked well as it allowed tying a lot of issues/subjects which didnt fit in other conferences into one session.

Sydney I think is a very good location for large conferences as not only is it central to most consultants, but also encompasses the critical mass of the membership AND potential attendees from many more Councils and govt departments.

overall - fantastic effort by the committee with due gratis to Mark Couston for duty above and beyond, chasing up all the speakers. The venue was very good (despite the construction noise being poor form) and the food lovely - much better than cold sandwiches.

I Hope that those of you that attended the annual conference this year found it enjoyable and beneficial.

Please use the forum as an opportunity to provide us with some feedback, both positive and negative, about the conference. These commments will assist the organising commitee for the 2009 conference, to design a program that accomodates as many members and non-members as possible.

Did you like two days rather than one?

Would you like a location outside Sydney?

Are there any particular topics you would like addressed?

Please share your thoughts.

Amy
