I'd be interested to hear what botanists think of the accuracy of following book which was on sale at the last ECA Conference:
Pellow, BJ,, Henwood, MJ & Carolin, RC (2009). Flora of the Sydney Region. 5th ed (Sydney University Press, University of Sydney).
I was interested to learn about Drosera spp. that occur in the Sydney region and the above text was one of several information sources that I consulted. It identified seven species that occur in the greater Sydney region: D. binata, D. pygmaea, D. glandulifera (misnamed?), D. burmannii, D. spatulata, D. peltata and D. auriculata.
Other sources illustrated that D. glandulifera is actually D. glanduligera and that D. auriculata has been classified as a subspecies of D. peltata since 1981.
If there are inconsistencies in the treatment of Drosera species by "Flora of the Sydney Region" I wonder if there are similar types of mistakes in other sections of the book.
