I got a Regent Bowerbird in an Elliot B mounted on a tree. Almost took my head off when I opened the trap to see what had closed it.

I've caught a Satin Bowerbird in An Elliott trap, as well as a Large Land Snail.

That's quite a feat!

I've had lesser animals (eg Bush Rats) chew their way out! Main weird and wonderful things I have had are several bandicoots, brushtail possums, land mullet and the best heart-starter, a full grown red-bellied black snake that gave me quite a thrill when I pushed down the door to look in. Then I had to figure out how to let it out...

Narawan Williams was at Smiths Lake yesterday when a student captured a juvenile spotted-tailed quoll weighing 550g in an A Elliot. Where were these quolls during the ECA workshop? Those lucky Singapore students - they also saw a diamond python, koala, common and mountain brushtail possums, 4 species of microbat and a northern brown bandicoot with large pouch young, as well as the usual antechinus, bush rat and water rat.

I live in hope at seeing a spotted-tailed quoll one day.
